A Few Words About SVSRA

The Southern Virginia Small Ruminant Association (SVSRA) was established to improve the economic viability of the meat goat industry in Southside Virginia through the development of cooperative marketing strategies, consumer and producer education and overall herd improvement.
Read or download a copy of the SVSRA
bylaws below.

We meet at the Halifax County Agricultural Marketing Center, 1001 Farmway Lane (Route 922), Halifax, VA 24558

Thanks to our connections with the Halifax County Agricultural Marketing Center SVSRA members have access to on-site scales, pens modified for goats and convenient loading areas for consignment sales and member exchanges.  A small charge per head is the only cost to members.
A comfortable meeting room, kitchen and bathroom facilities, audio/video and on-line access are also available.

Some Of Our SVSRA Farms

Hudson Heritage Farms, LLC

Our interests are in heritage breeds of animals and sharing our farming experiences through agritourism.  Our farm raises Highland Cattle, Horned Dorset Sheep, Large Black Swine, Boer Goats, and various breeds of chickens and other critters. We sell all natural pasture raised goat, lamb, pork and beef, and periodically have breeding stock available

White Oak Mountain Goats

Our family farm is in south central Virginia, located at the base of White Oak Mountain and has been in the family for the past 75 years. Tobacco was the principle product for several years, but it was later fenced for cattle and goats. We are currently raising Kiko and Kiko-cross goats for market.
